Changes!

Wow so much has happened in the last month! First and for most Dustin did get the job offer in Olathe, KS and today was his first day!! He is so excited, we all are! We are staying with my friend Caitlin, she lives just a few minutes away from our new place. We aren't able to move in until this coming Saturday. They are giving us all brand new appliances and cleaning it before we can officially move in! Saw it yesterday and I am so so so excited about moving there. It is a small one bedroom but has a lot of potential and is just perfect for us to start out in!

I graduated Cosmetology school and I am anxious to take my boards and start working. Unfortunately I have to fly back to Florida take my boards, come back to Kansas and possibly have to take more school:/ Let's pray that I just have to take a test out and will be able to start working in a salon soon! Until that happens I just plan on finding anything! A lot of places are hiring for holiday help, so it should be easy to find something soon. Will be able to keep myself busy while Dustin is at work this week!

The week that our family was in Florida with us was a blast!! Can't wait to upload some photos! Well that is it for now....Guess I need to change the name of this blog to something other than Florida Adventures!! Goodbye Florida!!

GOOOOOD NEWS!!

The most exciting thing I have yet to blog about!! Dustin has so far gotten 2 jobs offer! His job offers are in Louisiana and one in Kansas! Actually this weekend Dustin flew to Kansas for an official offer and hopefully giving him the job and making it official. Our top pic is definetly Kansas, it is only 3 1/2 hours away from our hometown and parents and only 3 hours away from dustin's mom. The dealership is on Olathe, KS which is about 1/2 hour outside of Kansas City. I am hoping for some really good news....like we ARE moving to KANSAS!! So proud of Dustin and all the hard work that he has put into school this past year! Did you know that in the past year Dustin has only missed 1 day of class?? 1 day!!

Well I busy finishing up with school, will be done by the end of next week!! After that I have about 2 1/2 weeks to pack up the apartment before the parents are down here and are moving us home! So the countdown is officially on! I believe Dustin only has 19 says left of school....eek!! Where did this past year go?

3 WEEKS, 6WEEKS!!!

Wow is it really October already?? Finally starting to feel a little like fall weather in Orlando! Last week we were able to turn the air off for about 4 days! Felt soo good to have the windows open when sleeping at night! Minus the loud noise of the planes coming in! Well worth it in the end though! Really hoping that electric bill will start getting less and less!

So I have 3 weeks left of school!! I can not wait...seems like I have been in school forever and just can't wait to be done! School has not been very busy, just need to be getting my hours done. Dustin only has 6 weeks left of school!! We are so unbelievably excited to be done with school and move out of Orlando. As of right now we aren't quite sure where we are going...Dustin is applying for jobs and we are just hoping for the best! If no jobs offer happens we will move back to Iowa for the time being and work part time til Dustin can find something. Our top pick is Tennessee! Please pray that Dustin can find a good job offer in a great place!

Besides counting down the days til we are done with school and our family comes down here, we are also busy trying to pack things up! Yes it may be 6 weeks away but it turns out I have a lot of stuff!! So on the weekends I am slowly going through things are trying to pack up what we don't need. Luckily I will be done with school 3 weeks before we move and can really start packing then! Should be a great time! haha

This is a short update...gotta do a little packing, make some calls, and run some errands! Yay for Mondays off!

Life Life Life

Can anyone believe that it is August 13th already? I sure can't!! The month of July was very busy for us! For the the 4th of July Dustin and I flew back home for the weekend and had an amazing time with our family and friends! Of course the time went too fast and we were back in Orlando too soon! We have both been busy with school and hanging out with friend! Our closet friends, moved back to their home state of Texas last weekend. So most of our weekends in July were with them. We went to Blue Springs National Park where the fresh water stays at a constant 72 degrees year round. We saw one manatee and went tubing down the river. Come the winter months the Springs are full of manatees everywhere! Really hoping we can go back and see more than one! We have been frequenting Sea World, which of course is always fun! It has been way too hot to go lately though! We went to a new Mexican restaurant called Abuelos and then to latest Angelina Jolie movie, Salt. Excellent movie, strongly recommend you all see it. We have also found a great place for a cheap date night! Buffalo Wild Wings has 60 cent boneless wings on Thursday nights! I have 12 weeks til I am done with school and Dustin has 14 weeks! It sure can't come soon enough! We are very ready to move out of Orlando and on to our next adventure. I was realizing a couple weeks ago that it had been a year since we moved down to Orlando! So much had happen within that time and most of those things were for the best! End of August Dustin and I heading up to Biloxi, MS to meet his mom and grandma. It should be fun to get away for a little while! Thanks for checking in, here are some recent pics!!

Went to a Rob Thomas concert at Universal Studios for the summer concert series! Dustin's mom came down and treated us to day at Universal, followed by an awesome concert of Rob Thomas!!

Besides having been sick for the past 2 1/2 weeks...things have been incredibly good around here!! I finally went to the doctor on Monday, because good ol' Mom was worried, well thankfully I did because they put me on 2 different antibiotics and made me stay home 2 days from school! Since I have been taking those and finally catching up on my sleep, I am feeling a million times better! Back to school tomorrow, hope it's busy and I didn't miss too much. I will have to make up these hours I missed, so July & August will be very very busy with school. Dustin is out job hunting right now. Although we only 5 more months here in Orlando, we need to start saving for another big move come December or January. We have no idea where we will move to, we have lots of options...such as: Tennessee, North or South Carolina, Northern Florida, Arizona....and so forth and so forth. Any suggestions? We are very excited to be in Iowa in 9 days! That weekend is going to be sooo fun! Well that was just a quick update, mostly blogging to post some pics=]

Summer!

Today is Dustin's 22nd birthday and we keep talking about how great the year 21 was to both of us! Let me list a few:
1. We moved to Orlando, FL.
2. We both are in schools we LOVE!
3. We have amazing family!
4. We made true friends and realized who are true friends are.
5. We live in a nice apartment with our kitty, Sophie.
6. We have goals, dreams, and ambitions.
7. We have a great future planned!
8. We love each other unconditionally.
9. We laugh at the little things:)
10. We live day to day, never going to bed mad, and realize that life is short, so live it to the fullest!

I made 1o things that are great about our lives! Sometimes moving far away from family and friends make you realize how lucky you are to know them and love them everyday!

Dustin is still top tech in his class! Keeps getting SOC(student of the course) in just about every course he is in!! School is going really good for me! I love doing hair! Especially highlights!! School keeps us super busy and we barely have anytime to do fun things! haha, but we do enjoy spending time with eachother!

Lots of things have happened in the past couple of months. My Uncle Corry and Aunt Kelly came down beginning of May and we were able to spend some time with the here in Orlando. It was a lot of fun! Our roommate Ryan moved out middle of May, so we know have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath place all to ourselves! Please come visit...got any extra room:) Also middle of May my Grandpa Calmer passed away. I was able to get a flight back to Iowa and spend some much needed time with my family! I miss them more and more everyday. It is hard knowing that I can't be there to give my mom a hug whenever she needs one! She is amazing and I look up to her more and more everyday. And this past weekend we went to Sanibel Island! It is on the gulf coast and about 3 1/2 hours from Orlando. Dustin's grandma, mom and aunt and cousins were there for the weekend! Sanibel Island is amazing! We went shelling and found some amazing shells! The beach is amazing:)

And now today....Dustin's birthday! I just looked out the window and saw that it is raining:( Let's hope it is short lived! Tonight we plan on doing dinner with friends and just relaxing at home the rest of the evening! I plan on posting some pics later today or later this week!

Time is flying!

O man how time flies!! yikes! Especially since I am in school now! Have been in school for 7 weeks now! Can you believe it? At times I can't! Before I know it both Dustin and I will be graduating. So far in school I have learned manicures/pedicures, up-dos, all over color, high-lights, and foils. Tomorrow we are starting hair cutting and by the Tuesday after Easter I will be on the floor full time doing hair! I have met tons of great girls while in school and finally feel as if I am fitting in down here in Orlando. Dustin has a friend from school, Aaron. Him and his girlfriend, Nikki, and their baby moved down here from South Carolina. We get together with them all the time. Nikki and I get along so well, she is a genuine person and they will be friends from life.

Dustin is doing great in school! Last week he finally started the Harley Davidson part of school. Of course he is loving it even more now that he is specifically learning the Harley bikes and not the generic stuff! He is half way done and will be graduating in November.

The last week/weekend in February was Bike Week in Daytona. So the last Sunday of Bike Week, Ryan, Dustin and I drove there to party and check out bikes! Tons of fun and something I have always wanted to do!



Last week my good friend Caitlin came to visit over her Spring Break! We did a lot of fun things! We went the beach, a Yankees spring training game, Michael Buble concert, shopping, and Universal Citywalk! It was a blast and mostly good weather! Always fun to have people come visit and see where we live and what we do everday since Orlando to us is not a vacation spot! haha


I am still looking for a part time job while in school. I have a very busy and hard schedule to work with! Dustin was lucky enough to find a part time gig at Motorcross track. Of course he loves that! Mostly just on weekends and maybe a couple afternoons a week.

The weather is starting to getting warmer and I couldn't be more excited! Anxious to lay by the pool and being going to the beach on the weekends! I am NOT looking forward to turning the AC back on :/ The biggest plan we have for the summer is heading to Iowa over the 4th of July weekend! Dustin will be coming with me this time! So we are looking forward to it very much and counting down the months!!

Iowa

It has been about a month since I last updated the blog! Did everyone have a good Christmas and New Years? Like I said in the last blog Dustin and I stayed in Orlando and his mom came down for a couple days. It was fun to have her with us for Christmas. We celebrated the New Years by having some friends over! Ate lots of great food and just overall enjoyed having company!

My SeaWorld job ended as of Dec. 31, it was seasonal only so I am once again jobless and on the hunt! I am looking for some part time that will work with my school schedule. Beginning of January had me really looking forward to starting school! Unfortunately I wasn't able to start on the original date of January 11 because there were not enough people to start the class. I was informed they need 8 people to start and they were pushing the start date back to January 25th! Back in October I had booked a flight back to Iowa for Jan 22-29...was a little considered that I would missing my first week of class, although I would only be missing orientation. I decided since I was starting school when I was suppose I called and got an earlier flight and made it back to Iowa on the 18th and will be staying til the 29th!! To say the least I was way excited! A couple days ago I heard from the admissions gal and got great news! She got the go ahead to start classes and will be starting on Feb. 1st!! Which is perfect since I will be in Orlando on the 29th. I can not wait to start school and meet new people! Can't wait to blog about how my first week goes!

Today is Saturday and I am being a little lazy waiting for my best friend Caitlin to get here from Kansas City! I have had a whirl-wind week! Got in Monday night, both mom and dad picked me up! Incredibly good to see them! Tuesday afternoon went to go see some family with my dad and Tuesday night when into Ames to see my 2 best friends from Ames, Sarah and Jeni. Jeni has been in Rome for the past 4 months...it was AWESOME to see her! Wednesday we got really bad ice and I was stuck at home most of the day with both mom and dad! Haven't had a snow day with both my parents since I was in elementary school! To say the least I was going a little stir crazy(sorry mom, you know I love you) Later the afternoon roads seemed to just be wet and I made into Ames to meet up with Jeni and later Sarah and went out with them to Olde Main for $1 pint night! Thursday morning had an eye appt. and from there went to Waterloo to see Meghan and Luke! Meghan was able to get the afternoon off of work:) They will be coming again on Sunday and staying thru Tuesday. We should be able to get some great family time in there!! Friday had me going to Ankeny to see my old boss for lunch and another good friend Kelly, from church, after that! And I still have another week of a full schedule just like this! Whew! Soo the weather is WAY to cold for me...and I keep complaining and Mom keeps calling me a whimp! It's like I have never left. HA!
